GEA received from the District a new compensation and benefit proposal on February 2, 2010.
This proposal reveals:
- The district has prioritized maintaining reserves and programs rather protecting teachers, counselors, school psychologists, librarians and speech pathologists from the impact of State budget cuts.
- The district should - and must be pressured to - set different budget priorities to protect employees.
GEA will continue to bargain with the District, with the goal of reaching a FAIR and REASONABLE contract settlement.
